Welcome to YAAA!
Thanks for visiting the Young Adults for
Alzheimer's Awareness! (YAAA!) site. Chances are you, like many
others, have experienced the effects of Alzheimer's disease.
I watched my grandmother deteriorate from
dementia and witnessed the hardships it caused my family. I
learned first-hand that Alzheimer's disease not only affects
older generations, it affects all of us who love those with it.
I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer’s
Disease. As a result, I made a commitment to remember her. So I
began my first Memory Walk team which blossomed into YAAA!
YAAA! was created to raise awareness of
Alzheimer's disease amongst the young adult population. Just as
importantly, we hope this group will be able to offer support to
our peers and to provide a platform for advocacy and involvement
in fighting this horrible disease.
We are a fun group dedicated to a serious
cause. We thank the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Richmond
Chapter for their support and dedicate monies we raise to them.
Thanks for your interest in YAAA!
